The member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Anambra State in the House of Representatives, Mr. Paschal Agbodike, has expressed strong confidence in the re-election of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term asserting that he is likely to face minimal opposition in the upcoming elections.
Mr Agbodike disclosed this in an interview with Voice of Nigeria while reflecting on Governor Soludo’s achievements over the past three years.
Agbodike emphasized that the governor’s transformative leadership warrants another term.
He described Soludo’s governance as a paradigm for other leaders to emulate, particularly in the spheres of infrastructure, human capital development and economic advancement.
“The progress we have witnessed under Soludo is substantial and evident across various sectors,” Agbodike stated. “From education to infrastructure, employment, and empowerment, the Soludo administration has not only met but exceeded expectations.”
He urged the citizens of Anambra to rally behind Soludo, dismissing the efforts of opposition parties as mere fantasies.
“Some small factions of opposition are wandering about, mistakenly believing that there is a vacancy in Agu-Awka Government House come November 8,” he said.
He noted the overwhelming support for Soludo, particularly in his own constituency of Ihiala, suggesting that the governor may run unopposed.
“We have collectively endorsed him and many communities share this sentiment due to his dedication to transformative governance,” he said.
“Under Governor Soludo’s stewardship, the state has experienced significant progress in infrastructural development.”
Remarkable projects
Agbodike commended the governor for revitalizing the state’s road network, with approximately 310 kilometers already asphalted within a short period.
Notable projects include the nearing completion of the Ekwulobia flyover and bus terminal, as well as major road dualization initiatives linking crucial localities.
“Governor Soludo has made Anambra State a destination rather than merely a departure point,” he said, referencing various ongoing projects, such as the construction of a 10-storey Marriott Hotel in Awka and the ambitious Solution Fun City, projected to be the largest in West Africa.
Agbodike also highlighted Soludo’s commitment to education, healthcare, and innovation.
“The governor has introduced a free education policy extending to Senior Secondary School Year 3 (SS3), recruited over 3,100 teachers, and restored electricity to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University after two decades of blackout.
“In healthcare, Soludo’s leadership has led to extensive upgrades in primary healthcare centers and the recruitment of 1,000 health workers.”
Agbodike further praised Soludo’s partnership with Meta during the recent Anambra Innovation Week, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth.
“Soludo’s vision for Anambra is both ambitious and achievable, and I look forward to witnessing his triumphant reelection,” Agbodike concluded.
