The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KW-SUBEB), in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), is set to commence a new round of training.
The programme will involve 224 Early Childhood Care Development Education (ECCDE) teachers and 240 heads of Universal Basic Education (UBE) schools across the state.
The 10-day programme, tagged Early Childhood Care Development Education, will focus on two themes: Effective Implementation of ECCDE Curriculum Policies and Effective School Management Skills for Enhancing Quality Basic Education Delivery.
The training will run in two phases: September 29 to October 3, 2025, and October 6 to October 10, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.
Sessions will be held at Bishop Smith Junior Secondary School Hall, Queen Elizabeth School Hall, and St. Barnabas School Hall in Ilorin.
A total of 464 teachers from the 16 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) in the state will participate.
The initiative is part of the government’s strategy to strengthen the basic education sector by equipping teachers with skills and knowledge for improved classroom performance.
The training aligns with the state’s education reform agenda, which emphasises continuous teacher capacity building to improve learning outcomes and provide a stronger foundation for pupils.
