Gombe State approves N715m for 2021 Basic Education Intervention Projects

The Gombe State Executive Council has approved over 715 million Naira as counterpart funds for the 2021 Universal Basic Education Commission/ State Universal Basic Education Board, UBEC/SUBEB intervention projects in the State.
Speaking after the council meeting in Gombe, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Commissioner for information and Culture, Mr Julius Ishaya Lepes, said the approval was in fulfillment of the Governor’s determination to demystify the State of emergency already declared by his administration.
Mr. Ishaya said the council also approved 118, 438 Naira 45 kobo for the renovation and upgrade of the cottage hospital in Kuri, to give maximum healthcare services to the people in the area.
He said the renovation and upgrade became necessary due to the level of dilapidation of the hospital and the Primary Health Centre.
Payment of Compensation
The Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Mr. Jafun Biri said the council had approved the sum of over 177 million Naira for the payment of compensation to individuals whose lands had been re-alocated to the Federal University Kashere, Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo and the Golf Course in Tukulma.
Mr. Biri said it was the priority of the present administration to keep giving lands to Nigerian Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies for the development of the State and for the overall good of the people.
