The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, CP Babaji Sunday has affirmed that the Kuchibena Community of the FCT as being safe for all.
He said there were no killings in the Community or anywhere in the Command.
The CP gave the affirmation in a statement signed by the Police Public Relation Officer Josephine Adeh, following Police preliminary investigations into a report making the rounds in some sections of the media that “Four persons were gruesomely murdered by suspected cultists in Kuchibena Community of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT in Abuja.”
CP Sunday, while noting that the command had commenced discrete investigations into the report however, confirmed that as at the time of issuing the statement, no such incidence was reported in Kuchibena Community or anywhere in the FCT.
The CP enjoined members of the public particularly residents of Kuchibena community to be calm and go about their lawful endeavours as the Police is committed to ensuring no crime or threat to their safety.
He further beseeched the citizens to promptly report any criminal act to any Police Station nearest to them.
Meanwhile, the CP has called on media reporters and social media users to verify their reports before making it public, especially ones capable of causing fear and apprehension in the FCT.
