Abducted Girls, Children escape from Boko Haram captivity

Six girls with nine children who were abducted in Chibok and Hong Local Government Areas in Borno and Adamawa states have escaped from Boko haram captivity.

The Borno State’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo presented them to the State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum at his Secretariat office in Maiduguri.

Zuwaira said, The 6 girls had displayed resilient effort by escaping from Boko haram captivity, trekking for 6 hours before they were finally rescued by the security operatives.

“They had to trek for 6 hours from the forest of Buniyadi to Damboa local government. 

” 3 that were abducted at Takulashu village on 3rd of October 2020 in Chibok are Maryam Ishaya with 1 child, Racheal Simon with 2 children, Esther Ayuba with 2 children, and Alheri Ezekiel has 2 children

Then on 5th of May 2021, Victoria Andrew and Victoria James were also abducted with 2 children from where they were captured in Kufre village, in Hong LGA of Adamawa state.

“Your Excellency you asked to see them as a father before we finally re-unit them with their family, they are here before you Sir.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, who expressed delight in their escape, thanked Almighty Allah for returning and protecting the girls.

“I am very happy to receive you my daughters after you fell prey to Boko Haram terrorists. We thank God Almighty for rescuing and protecting you from the hands of terrorists.

“As a government, we will do everything possible to ensure speedy reconstruction and reintegration of families who were abducted by the terrorist we will continue to support you to return to a normal life into the society, he added.
