The interim Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC in Kano state, Abdullahi Abbas is seeking for peace in the misunderstanding as contained in a petition submitted to the national headquarters of the party by some Stakeholders Forum of the party in Kano to be handled in a family way, believing the problem will soon be resolved.

The petitioners including two out of the three Senators and some members of the House of Representatives from the state in their summations, resolved that they will resist any attempt by the state party leadership to carry out state congress in a manner that will impose party officers on members.

While responding to questions from newsmen in Kano, the interim party leader described what the petitioners are saying as a misunderstanding because they are part of the party and they won elections to their various positions under the same family of the party.

“This is news to us, we carry everyone along in the party. They are all witnesses to this fact because they won election under the party platform with or without these delegates.

“It is really surprising that they will come out to say they are not being carried along.

“All the delegates were voted for from the wards and they are our people. We see those from Kano Central as the people of Shekarau, those from Kano North are Barau’s people, those from Kano South are for Kabiru while everybody in the state is for the governor.

“So we don’t have any problem in our midst. We have no problem with anybody, whosoever wins election from among us is ok. Whatever the case election is taking place and everyone is entitled to contest if he so desires.

“The sale of forms was closed on the 11th and contestants from all factions have purchased the forms and are going to contest. We are one family,” he said.

The Joint Stakeholders Forum who signed the petition to the Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CEPC) at the APC National Headquarters include among others, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, Senator Barau Jibrin, Hon Tijjani Abdulqadir Jobe, Hon Nasiru Abdua Nasarawa and Hon Sha’aban Sharada among others.

The petition filed to the national headquarters of APC at the end of the meeting, reads in part, “We reject in totality, the purported congresses said to be carried out by the state party leadership, at the ward and local government levels in the entire state because of its exclusiveness and flagrant violation of all known civilized norms, rules and party guidelines..”

“We shall resist any attempt by the state party leadership to carry out state Congress in the same exclusive and kangaroo manner aimed at imposing party officers on the members of the party in the state. We urge the national leadership of the party to urgently take a decisive steps to end the destructive tendencies manifestly exhibited in the management of the party affairs in Kano state.”

Ganduje had recently declared that Kano is ready for the Congress following the stakeholder’s consultation with agreement on concusses candidates.
