Abdul Mohammed Isa, Niger state
The Senator representing Niger East in the National Assembly, Sani Musa has called on security agencies to intensify efforts in curtailing the activities of bandits in Niger state.
This is in reaction to the abduction of thirty travellers by bandits in Garun Gabas village, Rafi local government area on Wednesday.
The report shows that about 30 travellers in Mass Transit Buses were kidnapped by suspected bandits at Garin- Gabas village near Zungeru on Wednesday in the state.
“I plead with all the security agencies in the state to collaborate and quickly mount a serious manhunt for those behind the abduction, every night hand must be put on the deck to achieve this objective,“ added Sen Musa
The senator further appealed to the Military authority not to relent to intensify their efforts by deploying their men and equipment to Zungeru and adjoining forests in Niger State in order parts of the state.
“Unless and until we tag these criminals as terrorists, our security agencies will not have the unfettered power to treat them the way they should be treated,” said Sen Musa
The Senator representing Niger east further sympathized with those in captivity and assured residents that very soon those abducted would again breathe air of freedom.
Senator Musa also condemned the recent unrest in parts of Minna caused by some youths which led to many of them being injured and the economic and social lives of people truncated.
“Youths who are leaders of tomorrow should always live in peace with one another and settle their disagreements amicably instead of resorting to brigandage and barbarism.”
While commending the very professional way the police and other security agencies managed the youth restiveness in the state capital, Senator Musa however appealed to parents to take proper care of their children rather than allowing them to become problems to the society.
