Ed Sheeran Releases YouTube Shorts for Upcoming Album

Ed sheeran has released a preview of his new album via 14 YouTube shorts, the preview features each song on his upcoming album, “=“ (Equals) which is set to be released on Friday, October 29.

The clips run for 20 seconds or less, they cover a wide range of scenes, from Sheeran pounding the drums to the opening track “Tides,” to him stepping into a bathtub filled with ice while wearing a suit in the “Shivers” bit to smiling at a man dancing in a doorway with a giant bowl of chips for “Bad Habits.”

Elsewhere, Sheeran and his wife Cherry, lounge around, kiss and flirt in the affecting “First Times” preview. Ed busts out a spray can for some freestyle painting to “Overpass Graffiti” and he spotlights his cat’s adventures in the adorable “The Joker and the Queen” short.

The 14 YouTube shorts cover Ed sheeran’s personal journey when it comes to the upcoming album which is noted to be four years in the making.

Each short is a day to day reflection of each song, it is also noted to give fans insight on what each song in the album means to Sheeran.

“I had a really fun day shooting my YouTube Shorts,” said Sheeran. “I’ve always really enjoyed the music video process, so it was fun to explore a new way of doing that by channeling each song’s theme in a unique way, while also giving you a sneak peek of the album!”

The artist who is self-isolating after contracting Covid-19, is also encouraging fans to create their own #SheeranShorts on their mobile devices by watching any of his clips and then tapping the bottom right square and clicking on “use this sound” bar to make a unique visual for one of the album tracks.

Sheeran promised fans a chance to win custom signed artwork for their own version of #sheeranshorts.
