A fourth day of protests is taking place across Sudan against Monday’s coup.

The demonstrations are smaller, owing to a heavy security presence.

Many businesses, banks and roads are closed.

The UN Special Representative to Sudan has met the military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.

He ‘urged him to release detainees and restore a transitional authority’ which includes civilians.

Local media say the state news agency, Suna, has been closed for the first time in more than 50 years after being taken over by the military.

Gen Burhan has sacked seven Sudanese ambassadors who rejected the coup.
