VP Osinbajo mourns Sani Dangote

Nigeria’s Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has described the late Sani Dangote, as a great Agriculturist that nation has lost to cold hands of death

Osinbajo made the statement when he paid a condolence visit to the President of Dangote Group of Companies, Aliko Dangote over the death of his junior brother, Sani Dangote at his residence in Kano

He said that Nigeria and indeed the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari has lost a rare gem and a friend who believes in and was instrumental to the Government’s agricultural Policy., especially the Tomatoes revolution Policy.

” I, in particular, I have lost a friend who consults me on many of his tomato programs, and together we were doing it to the extent that we have achieved what we have achieved today in our National Tomatoes Policy,” said the Vice President

Professor Yemi Osibanjo said although Federal Government has sent a special delegation under Hadi Sirika the Minister of Aviation, ” I felt as a friend and development partner I should come to condole with the families”.

“It was a big shock for us to hear that he had passed on.

“I want to send my own personal condolence to you and to all members of the family, this is a very very sad event. But I know that the Almighty God will comfort the family. 

“He has left behind a very excellent legacy and he was a man who was committed to his country, committed to his state and committed to his people. I hope that the Almighty God will comfort all of us,” added Osinbajo

Receiving the condolence on behalf of the family, the Chairman of the Dangote Group of Companies Alhaji Aliko Dangote thanked the Vice President for mourning with the family despite his tight schedules.

“Your Excellency I will like to thank you for coming to condole with the family Despite the federal delegation sent earlier.  In spite of your busy schedule, you were able to come over to console us. Your Excellency, I want to thank you on my behalf and on behalf of all the Dangote family.” 

“There is nothing one could do in the event of the death of my Brother, that is life and every one of us will surely one day test the bitterness of the death,” said Dangote

Governor of Kano state Dr Umar Ganduje commended the Vice President for coming to condole with the families of Dangote insisting that the love and concern shown by the government over the death is worthy of emulation.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo was escorted to Kano by the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and some Senators.
