Niger State State government in North Central Nigeria, is to synergise with the Nigerian Civil and Security Defense Corps NCSDC towards fighting ongoing insecurity in some parts of the state.

The Niger state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, in a statement by Mary Noel Barje, mentioned this when he paid a call to the Commandant General of the NCSDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi in Abuja, to discuss key areas towards ensuring the security of citizens in the state.

Governor Sani Bello who assured that the state government will give the corps alongside other security outfits, all the necessary support required  for operations, expressed concern about the insecurity in the country which is very  alarming.

He disclosed that he has approved funds for the repair of over 80 vehicles for security agencies to ensure effectiveness and efficiency and reassured the commitment of the state government to always support the families of those who paid the supreme price in the line of duty.

“We have a policy as a government that any officer that loses his life in action, a token is presented to the family”, he said.

Audi who said the visit by the Niger state governor was apt as it will further strengthen the existing relationship between the state and the Corps, assured the Governor that the state will soon be incorporated in the school security vanguard scheme of the corps as schools are vulnerable to attacks, adding that more agro rangers will be sent to the state.

He however appealed for more recruitment in the agency due to the ongoing insecurity challenges across the nation.
