Public Service Institute seeks partnership with NYSC

The Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) has solicited a robust collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ) on capacity building.

The Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, Dr Ganiyu Obatoyinbo stated this when he led a team from the PSIN on a courtesy visit to the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim in Abuja

He said the institute would continue to leverage on its statutory responsibility of capacity building for all public servants in the country.

Obatoyinbo, who commended Ibrahim for his innovations in NYSC since assuming duty, also thanked the Scheme for patronising the institute by holding some of its programmes in its facilities.

He added that the Public Service Institute of Nigeria is one of the leading management development institutions in Africa.

“We have just come here to say well done. We want to be identified with the NYSC because the Scheme is a household name in the country, Obatoyinbo said.

He also said the PSIN services include; training, promotion examination exercises, consultancy among others.

He urged members of the public to patronise the Public Service Institute which has a 358-room hotel, sports complex, more than 24 lecture theatres including other facilities.

The Administrator during the visit presented the training brochure of the institute to the NYSC Director-General, who was also decorated with a lapel of an epic public servant.

In his response, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim assured the CEO of the partnership.

He reiterated his commitment to capacity building for NYSC staff as well as championing of Corps Welfare.

“We will ensure continuous training for the staff in the scheme because training is very critical to organisational goals, he added.
