Infrastructure Development: Delta Governor Applauds Sokoto State Governor

The Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has applauded Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, transformation in Sokoto, especially in the infrastructure development and Health sectors.

Governor Okowa made the commendation shortly after inspecting the ongoing construction of Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital and Government Girls Science Academy in Sokoto.

According to him, from what he has seen the governor is developing the state infrastructure from health to education and so many human endeavors.

“I was very excited from what I saw because we have seen quite a number of completed and ongoing projects.

” As I step in Sokoto I Commissioned a world standard Medical Diagnostic Centre well equipped and functional, the state of art diagnostic center worth over N3 billion naira which is highly commendable.

” And now we have seen the level for the construction of Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital and College of Health Science including Government Girls Science Academy which are almost completed in just 14 months of this tenure.

” I also got round the city and see many ongoing roads development and construction of new flyovers which is a wonderful concept,” Governor Okowa said.

He noted that he was not aware with any Teaching Hospital with this type of sites across the country.

” With the number of structure and facilities that is anticipated especially with the proposed amenity ward that is going to be run as Public Private Partnership is just a wonderful concept and very excited,” he added.

Okowa noted that with the standard and well equipped Girls Science Academy, Tambuwal should continue to improve and promote Girl Child Education in the State.

” Moreso, as we realised we need this throughout the country, but even most needed in this part of the country, so an attempt actually to single out the girl children to have this quality education and quality environment is something that I think is to become a role model to our society,” he noted.

Governor Okowa also called on other Governors across the country to emulate Tambuwal’s policies and plans toward promoting and improving Girl Child Education.

“ Because most of our programmes we find that we tend to leave girl child behind, we don’t give them equal opportunity, but in Sokoto they are setting them in a higher pedestrian,” he added.

The Delta State Governor thanked Governor Tambuwal for delivering good governance and involvement of all stakeholders in the state decision especially the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar the III, and others to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
