A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), John Baiyeshea, has called on Journalists in the country to fight for justice and equity through professional reportage.

Baiyeshea, who made the call at the 3rd Edition of Kwara NUJ Carol Service, held at the NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, lamented the alarming rate of insecurity in the country.

Represented by Pastor Robert Fawehinmi, the Legal Practitioner who is also a minister of the gospel, further called on Journalists to rise up to the challenge by educating the people to shun all forms of vices.

Baiyeshea urged all and sundry to preach the message of love which the season connotes, stressing that only love can unite the people and engender development.

Speaking in the same vein, Chairman, Kwara State Chapter, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), Paul Adegboyega Olawoore, who chaired the service, called on Christian Journalists to be good ambassadors of Christ in the course of their work.

“I am here today to reflect with you about Jesus Christ, the reason for this season of celebration, and on how a Journalist and every child of God can translate the reason for Jesus’ coming into their daily living.

According to him, the journalism profession, among others, is significant in shaping the life of the nation positively, for relative peace and sustainable development.
