Newly promoted Remo Stars of Ikenne have firmly held on to the top spot of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

They ran away with a valuable 1-1 draw against homers Dakkada FC in Uyo Sunday.

Muritala Lawal scored in the 12th minute to give Dakkada FC the lead, but Samuel Anakwe helped the Ogun state team leave Uyo unscathed.

That meant champions Akwa United had no chance of taking poll position.

This fact was affirmed as the Promise keepers fell 2-0 to Nasarawa United in Lafia.

Kano Pillars emerged winners in the ‘Zobia‘ derby as they spanked Enyimba of Aba 2-0 in their adopted home Kaduna.

Veteran Pillars skipper Rabiu Ali opened scores via a penalty at the end of the first half.

Kokoette Udoh sealed the fate of the Aba millionaires early in the second half when he sent an audacious lob over keeper Leke Ojo.

Rivers United failed to capitalize on their rivals’ fumble as they were held to a goalless draw by stubborn Sunshine Stars of Akure.

Kenechukwu Agu scored a brace as Rangers destroyed Niger Tornadoes 4-0 in Nnewi, while MFM suffered another painful 3-0 defeat to leave them firmly rooted to the bottom of the NPFL table.

Three games will be played on Monday and they are as follow:

Abia Warriors Vs Kwara United
Gombe Vs Lobi Stars
Shooting Stars Vs Katsina
