AANI Congratulates Professor Mansur On Confirment as ‘Dan Masanin Sokoto

The President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Ambassador Emmanuel Okafor, on behalf of AANI members, has congratulated one of its members, Professor Mansur Sokoto on his conferment of the prestigious traditional title of “Dan Masanin Sokoto.”

The confirment which takes effect from 2nd November 2024, was done by the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, who is the Chairman of the AANI Heritage Council.

A statement by AANI’s National Publicity Secretary, Brigadier General Usman Kukasheka said the prestigious title, meaning “the Most Knowledgeable,” is a unique and historic recognition of Professor Mansur’s invaluable contributions to education, the development of the Muslim Ummah, the Sultanate Council, and humanity at large.

Professor Mansur is also a Professor of Hadith at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and is an internationally renowned scholar and prolific author, with numerous books covering Islamic sciences such as Hadith, history, and jurisprudence.

He is a dedicated advocate for Islamic values and standards, having established notable Islamic centers, including the An-Nur Islamic Centre, Ahlul Bayt and Sahaba Centre, Imam Malik Islamic Centre, and Makka International Academy, all in Sokoto.

His distinguished academic journey includes higher learning from the Islamic African Centre in Khartoum, Sudan; Islamic University in Medina, Saudi Arabia; and Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Nigeria.

With over 27 years of teaching and management experience, Professor Mansur is also well respected academic in Islamic Studies and Shari’ah, serving not only as a Faculty Professor at Usmanu Danfodiyo University but also as an expert adviser in the non-interest (Islamic) banking and finance industry in Nigeria.

As a member of the Advisory Committee of Experts at Sun Trust Bank Nigeria Limited, he continues to make impactful contributions in his field.
AANI conveys its profound gratitude to His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, for honoring its esteemed member with this distinguished title, reflecting his commitment to promoting knowledge and service to humanity.

AANI stands in solidarity with Professor Mansur and celebrates this remarkable achievement, “praying for Allah’s continued guidance and blessings upon him as we look forward to the turbaning ceremony.”
