ABC Bans Weapons Use on Set of Rookie Production

Following the aftermath of the fatal shooting that took place on the set of Alec Baldwin’s “Rust”. ABC has decided to ban live weapons on the set of its famous TV show “The Rookie.”

This new policy was announced a day after the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, her death was as a result of a prop gun used by Alec Baldwin, the famous actor, producer and star of the movie “Rust”

The movie has been put on hold ever since the incident occurred, and the aftermath has allowed a reevaluation when it comes to movie sets like ‘The Rookie’ and the kind of props they make use of.

The showrunner of the Rookie, Alexi Hawley informed his staff on Friday. He stated in a memo ,published by the Hollywood reporter: “As of today, it is now policy on The Rookie that O/all gunfire on set will be Air Soft guns with CG muzzle flashes added in post. There will be no more ‘live’ weapons on the show,”

He also added, “As always, if you ever feel unsafe or witness anything that concerns you, please –don’t hesitate to report it,” it concludes. “My door is always open.”

The new policy is to be followed effectively and immediately, the ABC show “the rookie” has officially banned any form of Live weapons or guns from set.
