Abducted Zamfara State College of Agriculture Students, Staff regain freedom

The Zamfara State Police Command in Collaboration with the state government and other critical stakeholders have successfully secured the unconditional release of 18 abducted students and staff of Zamfara State College of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Bakura.
The abducted victims who were brought to the Government House by the Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana, were handed over to Governor Mohammed Bello.
Receiving the victims, the Governor commended the Police and other security agencies for the efforts put in Place to secure the unconditional release of the abducted students and staff.
According to him, his administration has taken drastic measures to checkmate and curtail the activities of criminal elements in the State.
He therefore directed all the security agencies to ensure full compliance with the new measures.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana, appreciated the Governor for the support and encouragement rendered to the Police and other Collaborators that assisted in the successful rescue of the abducted victims.
In a statement by the Zamafara State Police Public Relation Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, it said all the victims are undergoing medical treatment by the Government and Police medical team before being reunited with their families.
It could be recalled that on Monday 16th August, 2021, suspected Bandits invaded the School and abducted the victims to an undisclosed hideout.
