Mrs. Otti, however, revealed that the state government would provide temporary care for the girls. She regretted that such an unfortunate act could be carried out in the state and gave an assurance that government would partner with homes, churches, and other stakeholders to provide necessary assistance for young girls and children who are being taken advantage of.
Speaking earlier, the Provost, Madonna College of Health Technology, Olokoro, where the girls are being rehabilitated, Reverend Father Christian Anokwuru, shed light on how the state government brought the girls to the maternity section of the College, to be cared for.
He however disclosed that the girls, who are about 20 in number, are pregnant and that the necessary scan and tests have been conducted on them. He also revealed that one of them had just been delivered of a baby and assured the first victimslady that they will be adequately catered for.
