The authority of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has sworn in new executive members of the National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) FCT chapter.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony over the weekend, the Mandate Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat, Mrs Hadiza Kabir called on the members to do their best in bringing together the youths under one umbrella.
She noted that unity among the youth would strengthen developmental ideas for a better Federal Capital Territory that all the residents would be proud of.
Mrs Kabir called on the council chairman to ensure transparency in running the affairs of the union, as well as reposition it to meet up with its many mandates.
“The council should provide a working instrument that will ensure peace, love, harmony, progress and understanding.
“There must be unity as an indivisible and indissoluble youth council dedicated to the promotion and education of the youths in the Federal Capital Territory.“
She, therefore advised them to work vigorously towards inculcating in the youth, a sense of patriotism and nationalism.
“Coordinate the various programmes of all affiliate youth organisations and ensure active mobilization of FCT youth for development purposes.“
Responding, the Chairman, NYCN FCT chapter, Comrade Ango Abdullahi promised to champion ideas that would speak well of youths in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
