Abuja: Nigerian Leader welcomes Indian Prime Minister

Nigerian Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who is on a state visit to the country.

PM Modi arrived the Forecourt of the Presidential Villa at 10:20am on Sunday and he was recieved by President Tinubu and members of the Executive Council.

On arrival, the Indian Leader was welcomed by the Indian Anthem afterwards the guards of honour mounted by Brigade of guards rendered the Nigerian Anthem and led the visiting leader in inspection of the guard.

President Tinubu and Prime Minister Modi will hold talks on strengthening existing Nigeria and India’s ties during a session of bilateral discussions.

PM Modi was also welcomed by 21 gun salutes by the guards of honour.

Both leaders will now begin meetings on bilateral talks to further strengthen ties between Nigeria and India.

The leaders will also exchange signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance collaboration in critical sectors.

Prime Minister Naranda Modi is on three nations visit to Nigeria, Egypt and Guyana, before proceeding to Rio de Janeiro for the G20 meeting.

It would be recall that the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, disclosed in a statement on Saturday that President Tinubu would host the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on a State Visit on Sunday, at the State House, Abuja.
