President Bola Tinubu will on Thursday, June 13 at 2:30 pm, commission the newly constructed Left-Hand Service Carriageway of Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) Stage II from Ring Road I (RRI) Junction to Wasa Junction, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Consequently, roads will be closed to vehicular movement between 11 am and 4 pm.
Also, traders, mechanics and other shop owners in the Apo Mechanic Village have offered to close their shops tomorrow, to enable them to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a rousing welcome, and participate in the commissioning of the road project.
The traders and mechanics associations have directed their members to close shops tomorrow and resume business on Saturday.
Motorists are therefore urged to use other routes between 11 am and 4 pm tomorrow, when the Apo-Wasa road will not be accessible.
Traffic enforcement personnel would be deployed to the affected areas to guide motorists and reduce inconvenience.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) pleads with road users who will be affected by this temporary closure to bear with the government while using alternative routes.
The Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has announced the closure of the road leading to Apo/Karshi road due to the commissioning
In a statement personally signed by the council Chairman, Mr Christopher Maikalangu and made available to Journalists in Abuja, announced that the Apo/Karshi road will be closed to facilitate the commissioning ceremony by the President.
He further explained that all Motorists from Apo Axis, Kabusa, Apo Road, Dutse, Waru, Wasa, and Apo Resettlement are affected by this development.
Mr Maikalangu advised all road users in the affected area to follow alternative routes from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM tomorrow.
While thanking the affected people for their understanding and compliance, it further expressed regret for the inconvenience such actions may cause the affected residents of the area.
