They made the call in an event themed: “The power of dialogue: Women uniting for peace and religious freedom in Nigeria.”

According to the Convener, Elizabeth Duelle, the LWYB Project Nigeria with the support of Empower Women Media is engaging in community based robust discussion and advocacy for the promotion of women rights as it borders on freedom of religion or Belief FoRB

She explained that it is part of the process to engage women leaders in community dialogue on religious freedom and the right of women

“In 2025 the work will focus more on getting more women leaders at all levels involved in the FoRB work.”

Addressing the urgent need for the female gender to wage into interfaith understanding amidst rising extremism, Mrs. Jumoke Fasakin, a Creativity Expert, an entrepreneur and advocate of peace stressed the importance of using the tool of selfless love to all to bring solution to religious rancour amongst people of different faith in Nigeria’s diverse landscape.

According to Felix Samari, the Country Lead and Coordinator of the Live What You Believe Project Nigeria, the Women Leadership Training featured a distinguished panel of female experts from religious institutions and academia.

LWYB is an arm of FoRB in Nigeria which advocates for a society that respects and honors religious diversity.
