The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has stated that fostering a strategic partnership between Nigeria and Brazil is crucial for advancing Nigeria’s economic diversification and developing a resilient, export-driven economy.

Chief Emeka Obegolu, President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), emphasized the importance of collaboration between Nigeria and Brazil to drive economic growth and diversification. Speaking at the Nigeria-Brazil Trade Mission on Monday in Abuja, Obegolu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), highlighted Brazil’s expertise in sectors such as agribusiness, energy, and healthcare as pivotal for enhancing Nigeria’s capacities, boosting exports and creating new opportunities for its citizens.

He noted Brazil’s willingness to explore and support the export of Nigerian products, underscoring the potential for a balanced trade relationship. According to him, such mutual exchange is critical for sustainable economic development, ensuring that both nations benefit equally and fostering a win-win scenario for growth.

Obegolu also pointed to Brazil’s longstanding commitment to Africa as a key factor for optimism, reinforcing the potential for a robust and fruitful partnership.

“Over the years, Brazil has shown a genuine interest in supporting Africa’s development, not just through trade but also through investment, knowledge transfer and cultural exchange.

“This commitment is particularly important as we navigate the challenges of sustainable development.

“Agribusiness, energy and healthcare are critical to our efforts to build a sustainable and inclusive economy,” he said.

Obegolu identified the gathering as a testament to the strong and growing relationship between the two nations.

“It is heartwarming to have representatives from Brazilian businesses here, exploring opportunities and seeking partnerships within our borders.

“This shift,  not only underscores Nigeria’s growing stature as a hub for international business, but also aligns perfectly with our goal of making Nigeria a central player in the global economy.

“This trade mission is an opportunity to build on our shared values, leverage our unique strengths and create a future of shared prosperity, he said.
