ACCI Promotes Women-Owned Businesses To Strengthen Women Entrepreneurs

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has adopted a clear definition of Women-Owned Businesses (WOB) to promote gender inclusion and ensure targeted support for women entrepreneurs.

ACCI in a statement revealed that WOBs include; Women who are sole proprietors and companies or partnerships that are more than 51% owned by women.

Speaking at the event, ACCI’s Vice President, on Women Development and Gender Matters, Mrs Roseline Nwosu, emphasized that defining WOBs is crucial in bridging the economic gap for female entrepreneurs.

According to the statement, “This definition sets a standard for recognizing and empowering women-led enterprises, ensuring they receive adequate representation in policy discussions, business support programs, and funding opportunities.”

“This initiative aligns with ACCI’s commitment to fostering an inclusive business environment where women can thrive as business leaders, innovators, and contributors to national economic growth.” It added.
