“During my interview, when I was asked what I would do differently to change the image of the Treasury House, I wanted to turn the question back to you: What will you do differently to correct the image of the OAGF? The question is for all staff members.

“Each one of us must work to change the perception of the country’s treasury.”

While soliciting the support of staff, the AGF pledged not to victimize anyone but to work as a listening leader. “I want everyone to have the spirit of togetherness. I am not part of any group, and I am not going to polarize the office. If I fail, everyone here has failed. I am ready to commit myself to the service of the public.”

Ogunjimi reiterated that he would be professional in the discharge of his duties. “I have been a victim of a chief executive officer firing directors they don’t like. ‘I don’t like him. Please remove him.’ I am not going to be that leader,” he assured.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Shamsedeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the Accountant General of the Federation following the retirement of Oluwatoyin Madehin on March 7, 2025
