The people of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria are poised to experience a revolution in governance if they cast their votes for the Action Alliance party in next year’s governorship election.

The governorship candidate of the Party in the State, Tope Balogun, said this in an interview with Voice of Nigeria in Lagos State.

Mr Tope Balogun, an educational technologist and former Secretary of the Congress for Progressives Change, Lagos State, said that he was in the governorship race to ensure an equitable and just distribution of the State’s vast resources to all indigenes and residents.

“One of the major goals of the “New Lagos” is to lighten the burden of all residents in many facets of life by overhauling a whole lot of systemic rots in many sectors of the state thereby making our dear state to the enviable status it belongs among other cosmopolitan cities of the world.
Major cities all over the globe are mostly recognized for their unique features. Lagos State is not an exception and had been known in the past with its special ranking from time immemorial. The state is characterized by the unique class of Lagos inhabitants owing to economic prowess and relatively comforting situation. Unfortunately, all the comforts and economic power of the inhabitants are things of the past due to the avaricious nature of some few co-residents over the years”

Rebirth Agenda

The youthful governorship candidate is coming with what he calls a rebirth agenda for Lagos.

“I will be unfolding the Lagos REBIRTH agenda R – Rural Development, E-Education & Energy, B – Broad base & Inclusive Governance, I – Infrastructure, R – Restoring Security of Lives and Property, T –Technology & Transportation, H –Healthcare and Housing.

“The actions embedded in the above idea of REBIRTH will lead us to create four hundred and fifty thousand jobs (450,000) with a promise to roll out employment forms for potential employees for about 200,000 jobs. These forms are to be submitted for immediate employment two months after being sworn in while the remaining 250,000 will be gainfully employed afterwards. The job creation models are already documented awaiting the opportunity for implementation,  he said”.

The 40-year-old young candidate will contest against candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, the Peoples Democratic Party and others in the governorship elections scheduled for next year.
