Adamawa Electoral Commission Reveals Readiness to Conduct LG Polls

The Chairman, Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Alhaji Mohammed Uma, has revealed the commission readiness to conduct credible elections in the 4,104 polling units in the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Uma revealed this during an interactive session with newsmen in Yola on Tuesday.

He said that the non sensitive materials for the exercise had been distributed across the LGAs and that the sensitive materials would be distributed on Thursday, starting with the hard-to-reach areas.

The ADSIEC boss said that 12 political parties would participate in the election, adding that all the candidates have been screened and confirmed qualified.

We are 100 per cent logistically ready for the election.

“And we have trained all the ad-hoc staff to ensure successful election. We are relying on the voters registered by the INEC,” he said.

Umar further said that the commission, with the support of the Police and other security agencies, would ensure safety and security of voters during and after the exercise.

He debunked as fake the allegation that the commission had already printed the election results.
