The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed sadness over the death of former Inspector General of Police, Gambo Jimeta, who died on Thursday, January 21, after battling an illness.
In his condolence message, Governor Fintiri described the late IGP, as one of the finest officers of the law.
The Adamawa State Governor said the state would remain proud of its illustrious son, who made an impact on the Nigeria Police.
“The Late Gambo Jimeta served with honour and dignity and was an integral part of many crucial investigations in Nigeria’s history,” Governor Fintiri said.
He said the IGP would be remembered as an individual who truly cared about people and those who worked tirelessly to keep Nigeria safe.
“Gambo was a great man, who contributed so much to Adamawa State and the law enforcement community in Nigeria,” said Governor Fintiri.
He said his thoughts and prayers were with the family, joining them in commemorating his life and service to Nigeria.
While extending his deepest condolences to Jimeta community, Adamawa State, the Nigeria Police and the entire family, Governor Fintiri, said his demise was a great loss not only to the state but Nigeria, especially at a time the nation faced security challenges.
Governor Fintiri also said the country would miss Jimeta’s wealth of experience to help surmount the problem
“Gambo exemplified the best of law enforcement in our country. He was a trusted officer who showed his commitment to Nigeria especially the role he played in many significant investigations. He was a role model, and mentor to many across our State and he will be remembered very fondly,” Governor Fintiri said.
