Delegates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State have elected Hamza Madagali as the new State Chairman, with Mr Saleh Sheleng emerging as Secretary, to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
The election, held during the party’s State Congress in Yola on Saturday, was described as peaceful and successful by Mr David Lorhenba, Chairman of the Congress Committee.
According to him, a total of 2,656 delegates from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state participated and voted to elect 39 new executive officials. He commended party members for their orderly conduct.

”The congress was very smooth. Delegates across the 21 LGAs cast their votes without rancour, and winners were duly declared,” Lorhenba stated.
In his farewell message, outgoing chairman Mr Attahiru Shehu congratulated the new leadership and urged them to consolidate on the party’s achievements.
He recalled how the PDP transitioned from opposition to producing Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who served two terms and, according to him, delivered impactful governance.
In his acceptance speech, Hamza Madagali, who rose from Organising Secretary to Chairman, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged an open-door leadership style, anchored on inclusiveness, discipline, and unity.
”We must sustain the tradition of good governance and begin early preparations for 2027 with focus and determination.
“To those outside our fold, particularly the youth and women of Adamawa, PDP is your home. Our doors remain open to all who seek to contribute to the growth of our state. Our party will remain a beacon of people-centred leadership,” Madagali assured.
