The Adamawa State Police Command, Northeastern Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to combat crime, as it announces significant achievements for the third quarter of 2025.

At a press briefing in Yola, the State Capital, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, emphasised that the State has recorded calm, peace and progress in crime-fighting efforts compared to previous quarters.

The event, attended by Senior Officers, HODs, and Divisional Police Officers, also served as a platform to review operational integrity and reinforce professional conduct in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police.

According to the CP, a total of 72 suspects were arrested within the period under review, with 57 already charged to court while 15 are still under investigation.

While applauding the dedication of his officers, the Commissioner issued a strong warning on unprofessional conduct.

”Officers must uphold human rights, as enshrined in Nigeria’s Constitution. There will be zero tolerance for corruption, extortion, or unlawful arrest. DPOs and HODs will be held accountable for the actions of their subordinates,” the Police said.

“Each time officers meddle in civil matters, violate human rights, or engage in corruption, we lose the trust of the public. This must stop, and it must stop now,” the CP warned.

The Commissioner also extended appreciation to the Governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri,, for his unflinching support to the Command, as well as to the people of Adamawa State for providing credible intelligence that led to successful operations.

He further lauded the efforts of all officers under his command and urged them to double their efforts in upholding the ethics of policing — professionalism, civility, and respect for human rights

“We remain fully committed to protecting lives and property, and urge residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity. Security is a collective responsibility — See Something, Say Something,” he stated.

He also appreciated the media for their partnership in promoting public awareness and showcasing the successes of the Police in the fight against crime.
