The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has officially launched the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex.
The Modern Shopping Complex is a landmark commercial hub aimed at boosting economic growth and investment in the region.
The ambitious project, valued at over 19 billion naira ($12 million USD), is set to be completed within 18 months.
To ensure efficiency and timely delivery, the construction has been divided into three LOTs, each awarded to a reputable contractor.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Fintiri emphasized that the project is more than just a physical structure—it represents a transformative initiative that will enhance the state’s economic landscape, attract investors, and create employment opportunities.
“This is about creating an enduring legacy, a vibrant commercial hub, and an environment that will attract investments, foster economic growth, and generate jobs for our youth and the people of Adamawa State,” Fintiri stated.
He further highlighted that the shopping complex aligns with his administration’s broader vision to modernize both urban and rural areas, promote sustainable development, and provide residents with improved commercial infrastructure.
To ensure high-quality execution, the state government has engaged Messrs Associated Design Consultants as the technical consultants.
Governor Fintiri reassured the people of Adamawa that rigorous oversight would be maintained throughout the project to guarantee timely completion and the delivery of a world-class facility.
“The interests of Adamawa State and its people come first. We are committed to seeing this project through and will not allow distractions or political interference to derail our vision,” he affirmed.
The governor called on traders and the broader business community to collaborate with the Ministry of Commerce in taking ownership of the project, assuring them that it would be successfully completed as planned.
This initiative marks a significant step in Adamawa State’s economic transformation, setting the stage for enhanced trade, commerce, and investment opportunities in the region.
