Journalists in Adamawa State have been commended for their cooperation and support in moving the state forward throughout 2024.
The Chief Press Secretary to the State Government, Humwashi Wonosikou, at a breakfast meeting with the journalists in the State in Yola, the state capital, said their professionalism has played a vital role in promoting transparency and accountability in governance in the state.
He said their tireless efforts to report the news, share their stories, and hold those in power accountable have not gone unnoticed.
“In a world where misinformation and disinformation can spread quickly, your commitment to fact-based reporting and journalistic integrity is more important than ever.
“You have demonstrated a steadfast dedication to uncovering the truth, even in the face of challenges and adversity. This is a testament to your professionalism and perseverance.
“Through your reporting, you have helped to amplify the voices of our citizens, sharing their stories, struggles, and triumphs with a wider audience.
“You have highlighted the issues that matter most to our communities, from education and healthcare to economic development and social justice. Your work has helped to promote greater understanding, empathy, and engagement among our citizens,” Humwashi said.

While looking forward to continuing partnership with the journalists in the years to come, he emphasized that their contributions to democracy, communities, and understanding of the world around are immeasurable.
On behalf of the Nigerian Journalists in Adamawa State, the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Adamawa Chapter, Mr. Dedan Ishaku, expressed appreciation for the recognition of their professional role in developing the state and pledged that they will be more committed to upholding professional ethics while serving the people of the state.
