The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) in Adamawa State has successfully trained 1,500 households in various skills acquisition programs aimed at promoting self-reliance and income generation.

The initiative, conducted in partnership with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focused on empowering women across the state’s 226 political wards.

Participants were trained in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) skills, including the production of local seasoning, Vaseline, and liquid fertilizer, among others.

Speaking at the program’s closing ceremony, PAWECA Director-General, Dr. Michael Zira, expressed satisfaction with the success of the initiative. He urged beneficiaries to utilize the acquired skills effectively to improve their personal income and achieve financial independence.

Dr. Zira emphasized that women and youth empowerment remains a priority for Governor Umaru Fintiri’s administration and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sustaining such initiatives.

Similarly, the State women leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Suzan Zira, lauded the sponsors and encouraged the participants to maximize the knowledge gained by engaging in productive ventures.
