Adamawa Threatens Action Against Defaulting Contractors

The Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has warned contractors handling ongoing construction work on Lamurde Cottage hospital and Numan general hospital to speed up work to ensure completion of the project.

during inspection of the two project sites, Thursday were told to seat up

Farauta wondered why, the 60-bed cottage hospitals and staff quarters, awarded before others, cottage across the state have not been completed.

“Government wonder why Lamurde Cottage hospital is still crawling at the low pace of work. Some cottage hospitals, were started after Lamurde and they have been commissioned”. She said

“It is not acceptable anymore, that Lamurde Cottage hospital project is crawling in nature.

“This project has to be completed and it should be done now to avoid government action”. Farauta warned

Meanwhile, at Numan general hospital, She told the contractors that, the state government will not tolerate any form of laxity that could undermine its estimated time lag for the completion of pediatric, laboratory and theatre projects under construction.

In their separate responses, Egr Usman Ismail promised to complete the N279 Lamurde Cottage hospital project within two months.

While, Eng Yusuf Ahmad Gankuba, attributed the delay in Numan project to fall out between the contractor and the first resident Engineer.

The two hospitals provides health services to communities in Numan federation compromise of nine LGAs and some communities in neighboring Taraba state.
