The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, Mallam Saidu Komsiri has pledged total loyalty to the party’s national leadership.
Komsiri also announced plans to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He stated this at a press conference held at the Correspondents’ Chapel in Jimeta, Yola, the state capital, saying the caretaker committee under his leadership would work to restore unity, discipline, and order within the state chapter of the ADC.
He reaffirmed confidence in the party’s national leadership under Senator David Mark and the party’s national leader, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
“Under my leadership, we have unwavering loyalty to our national leadership and will rebuild the ADC into a strong political force before 2027,” Komsiri said.
Party Committees
The Chairman clarified that the Transition Steering Committee, Caretaker Committee, and Membership Mobilization Committee are distinct bodies with different responsibilities.
He cautioned against merging or manipulating the committees, describing such actions as unconstitutional and harmful to party unity.
“It is wrong for the Transition Steering Committee to usurp the roles of other committees. Each has its defined function under the ADC Constitution,” he stressed.
Grassroots Reorganization
Komsiri also announced plans to immediately begin forming executive committees across all 21 Local Government Areas and 226 wards of the state.
He said the move aims to end leadership disputes and restore effective coordination at the grassroot level.
“The formation of LGA and ward executives will restore order and strengthen the ADC’s presence in all communities,” Komsiri stated.
Call for Cooperation
The caretaker chairman called on members and other stakeholders to work harmoniously with the caretaker leadership.
He said mutual respect and cooperation were essential for peace and progress within the ADC.
“The ADC belongs to all of us. Only cooperation and adherence to our constitution will sustain unity and credibility,” he said.
Commitment to Party Growth
Komsiri reaffirmed the caretaker committee’s commitment to uphold the ADC Constitution, promote reconciliation, and prepare the party for future elections.
“Our unity is our strength, and our constitution is our guide,” he said.
Komsiri expressed confidence that the ADC in Adamawa will emerge stronger and more united ahead of 2027.
