ADEF Lauds President Tinubu For Pro-Youth Appointment Of Bosun Tijani

Africa Digital Economy Forum (ADEF), a non-profit organisation that promotes the development of the digital economy in Africa, has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Bosun Tijani as Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.

 

The co-Founder/CEO of ADEF, Mr. Akin Naphtal, in a statement issued on Friday,18th August 2023 said Tijani’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment when the digital economy is playing an increasingly crucial role in shaping the future of Africa and the world.

 

Digital inclusivity

According to Naphtal, under Tijani’s leadership, ADEF expects to witness strategic initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, promoting digital inclusivity, and accelerating economic growth through technology-driven solutions in Nigeria.

 

ADEF is glad to congratulate Bosun Tijani on his appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. ADEF is convinced Tijani comes to office with a formidable credential to advance digital developments in Nigeria and across Africa.” 

 

“Bosun is a highly respected figure in the African digital economy space, and he has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. His expertise should fittingly help Nigeria become a global leader in digital innovation,” Naphtal said

 

Naphtal said that ADEF is committed to collaborating closely with Minister Tijani and his team to further its shared mission of harnessing the power of the digital economy to create sustainable growth and prosperity across the continent.

Tech in Ecosystem

Tijani is the co-founder and CEO of Nigeria’s biggest tech hub, Co-Creation Hub CcHub) with a Pan Africa footprint in Kenya, Rwanda and Namibia. As part of his commitment to the tech ecosystem even before his appointment as a minister, Tijani initiated Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg’s first-time visit and received him in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole in August 2016.

 

In his new role, Tijani will be responsible for developing and implementing policies to promote the growth of the digital economy in Nigeria. He will also be tasked with ensuring that Nigeria has a robust telecommunications infrastructure and that its citizens have access to affordable and reliable internet services.
