The Action Democratic Party (ADP), has felicitated with Christians in Nigeria and the world as they mark this year’s remembrance of the “death and resurrection of Jesus Christ”.

The ADP in a statement signed by the National Chairman Mr Yabagi Sani stated that as it happened two years ago, “Christians marked Easter at a period Muslims were equally observing the Ramadan fast.”

Mr Sani also stated that the coincidence is a clear indication “that human activities are regulated by one God” and that “it is a message that the differences between the two faiths do not matter to God.”

State of the Nation

Mr Sani also commented on the state of the country saying that “Nigeria is today going through very tough times.”

Mr Sani acknowledged that the tough measures the government took are indeed “a bitter pill for the masses to swallow.”

“The removal of fuel subsidy on May 29 is one policy that has resulted in a chain of economic actions not pleasant for the citizenry,” he said.

Sani however said that “this season presents a unique opportunity to somberly brood over our iniquities and pray fervently to God to heal our land.”

The ADP party leader stated that “it is not a hopeless situation” and that “Government on its part is having sleepless nights just as the citizens are praying ceaselessly for the situation to improve.”

He added that “At a time like this, therefore, we pray God to unlock us for the path of peace” as he wished Christians a peaceful Easter celebration.
