The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), with the Ekiti State Government to provide aeronautical meteorological services at the Ekiti International Cargo Airport.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding, which is initially set for two years, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and the Ekiti State Government will collaborate to equip the Ekiti Cargo Airport with adequate resources for comprehensive aeronautical meteorological services.

Additionally, they will foster a productive working relationship aimed at ensuring safe flight operations at the airport.

The provision of meteorological services in aviation is essential to furthering the NiMet’s mandate.

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike said that NiMet welcomes partnerships with state governments as the agency cannot succeed without such partnerships.

The signing of this MoU signals a strong partnership and new beginning between NiMet and Ekiti State,”  Anosike said.
