AFCON 2021: Egypt Releases It’s 40-Man Preliminary Squad List
The Egyptian national football team, “the Pharaohs” has released it’s 40-man provisional squad list ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) in a statement said the final 24-man squad for the tournament scheduled to begin in Cameroon between 9 January and 6 February would be released by the end of December.
Leading the 40-man squad is Mohamed Salah, Arsenal’s midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Aston Villa winger Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan.
However, Tarek Hamed who was not part of the Pharaoh team at the just concluded FIFA Arab Cup was not also included in the list.
The seven-time African champions are in Group D with Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan.
