AFCON: Plateau state Governor cheers Super Eagles to victory

Ahead of the finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire today, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has extended his best wishes to the Super Eagles of Nigeria for a resounding victory.

Nigerian team, Super Eagles is set to face Cote d’Ivoire in the final match today billed to kick off by 9 pm.

Mutfwang conveyed his best wishes during a Zoom call with the Super Eagles players, especially those who hail from Jos, Plateau State with the Commissioner of youth and Sports Development, Hon. Bashir Lawandi Datti.

A statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Gyang Bere, quoted the governor as expressing unwavering confidence in the team’s remarkable performance, believing they will return home triumphant with the trophy.

We are immensely proud of you as you head into the final, and our prayers are with you. Your remarkable efforts in Cote d’Ivoire have brought Nigerians together, and we, in Plateau State, are honored to be part of this historic journey.”

Among those present during the interaction with Mutfwang were players like Ahmed Musa, Captain of the team, Chidozie Awaziem, Moses Simon, Geoffrey Chinedu, as well as the team doctor, Ibrahim Muhammad, among others.

Mutfwang expressed hope that the team would emerge victorious, and Plateau State is eager to celebrate their outstanding performance.
