Rwanda Stuns Super Eagles In Uyo

Nigeria’s Super Eagles concluded its AFCON Group D qualifiers with a surprising 2-1 loss to Rwanda in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Despite the defeat, Nigeria finished top of the group with 11 points, securing qualification for the 2025 tournament in Morocco.

Key moments included Samuel Chukwueze’s opener in the 59th minute, followed by Rwanda’s swift comeback with goals from Aimable Mutinzi in the 72nd minute and Imanishimwe Nshuti in the 75th minute. Defensive lapses proved costly for Nigeria, as Rwanda capitalized to earn a historic win.

In the group standings, Benin joined Nigeria in qualifying with 8 points on goal difference over Rwanda, while Libya finished last with 5 points.
