The Coalition for Dialogue on Africa, CoDA has said that for Africa to have a sustainable development, the continent must aspire to solve its own problems with little help from foreign bodies.

At a media briefing ahead of the launch of an independent Task team on vaccine production and Distribution in Africa held in Benin, Edo state,  the CoDA, Executive Director,  Ms. Souad Aden Osman, said it was time Africa took its destiny into its own hands by providing solutions to her problems instead of depending on nations from other continents.

According to Ms. Aden Osman who also heads the secretariat of the African Union High Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows, IFFs from Africa (HLP on IFFs), Africa must find the capacity to produce what it needs from what it already has by engaging critical sectors with a view to finding solutions to African problems.

“What Africa needs to do is We must produce what we need and consume what we produce.”

“We need to lift things blocking us and ensure that the private sector comes in forcefully to ensure we find solutions”  Ms Souad said.
