AfroBasket Qualifiers: D’Tigers Set For Battle Against Libya

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, are gearing up for a crucial 2025 AfroBasket qualifier against hosts Libya, in a bid to secure a ticket for the tournament.

D’Tigers, who are stacked with a roster of talented players, are aiming to assert its dominance on the continental stage. A win would bolster its chances of picking a ticket to the Afrobasket championship, taking place in Cote D’Ivoire.

However, they face a determined Libyan side playing on their home court, fuelled by national pride and the support of it’s passionate fans.

The match promises to be a high-stakes battle with both teams vying to secure a spot.

With the Nigerians needing to win at least two of its games, the boys have remained upbeat about recording great results in the second window of the qualifiers.

Captain of D’Tigers, Ike Nwamu expressed confidence ahead of the crucial game.

“We are ready for sure. Everyone is ready and excited for this opportunity we have to make our country proud,” Nwamu said.
