The Managing Director of Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Agbata, has reiterated the state’s commitment to the transforming Anambra into Nigeria’s digital and creative capital.

Speaking to journalists at the agency’s headquarters, Agbata, cited the Governor’s “People’s Manifesto,” particularly the blueprint detailed on page 19, which outlines a  roadmap to digital transformation.

The digital agenda for Anambra is anchored on strategic investments in infrastructure, digital skills, innovation, entrepreneurship, social development, and economic transformation through technology and the creative economy,” Agbata said.

He pointed to key reforms already underway, such as the elimination of Right of Way (RoW) fees, which has significantly accelerated broadband expansion across the state.

This, he added, had not only boosted digital capacity but has also laid the groundwork for a robust tech-driven economy.

Agbata said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration had placed technology and innovation at the core of its development strategy, seeking to harness the talents of Nigeria’s youth and position the southeastern state as a leading player in the digital economy of Africa.
