The 49th Annual National Ijtema (Convention) of Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MAAN), the elderly men’s auxiliary body of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, was successfully held in Akure, Ondo State, in August 2025. The event had the theme: “Listening to the Voice from the Wilderness to Avert Third World War”.
The convention drew 4,151 participants across Nigeria, comprising government officials, royal fathers, respected religious leaders, professionals and community members. After three days of lectures, deliberations, competitions and prayers, the gathering reached significant resolutions.

Commitment to Peace and Global Harmony
Delegates reaffirmed that peace is the foundation of human progress and urged world leaders to embrace dialogue, justice and fairness to prevent a Third World War. Participants echoed the call of His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), Khalifatul Masih V, stressing the need for global unity above selfish national interests. The convention also reminded participants to avoid conflict within their families, communities and the nation at large.
National Unity and Good Governance
The Ijtema urged Nigerian leaders at all levels to strengthen justice, equity, and good governance as the basis for peace and national cohesion. It further called for interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence to reinforce unity across the country.
Health and Social Welfare
The gathering commended the successful hosting of a two-day free medical outreach at the Palace of Iralepo, Isinkan, Akure. The initiative benefitted more than 400 residents through medical consultations, laboratory tests and the distribution of 100 free eyeglasses.
Expression of Gratitude
The Ijtema expressed deep appreciation to the people and government of Ondo State, traditional rulers, religious leaders and security agencies for their support and goodwill. Special recognition was extended to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa; the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi; and the Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ojo Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III), among other dignitaries who honoured the event.
