Air Chief Orders Intensified Strikes On Bandits

.The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has directed Nigerian Air Force (NAF) troops to intensify air offensives against bandits while ensuring maximum protection of civilians

Abubakar reiterated the force’s commitment to precision air operations that prioritize civilian safety.

This was made known in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Capt. Kabiru Ali.

During his visit to the Air Component Headquarters of Operation Fansam Yamma in Katsina and Sokoto States, the CAS commended the dedication of troops in combating banditry and urged them to sustain their efforts.

He emphasised that air power remained a critical tool in dismantling criminal hideouts and providing essential support to ground forces in the ongoing counter-banditry campaign.

Abubakar assured personnel of continued support in intelligence, logistics, and welfare, stressing that “timely intelligence, well-maintained equipment, and high troop morale are crucial for achieving lasting security in the region.”

As part of his visit, the Air Chief assessed operational aircraft and ongoing infrastructure projects in both states.

He reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to safeguarding the nation through air superiority and strategic coordination.
