Air Force Celebrates winner of National Science Exam

A student of Air Force Comprehensive School (AFCS) Agbani, Enugu State, Master Edeani Izuchukwu has emerged winner of the just concluded National Science Competitive Examination where he was awarded the “774 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award.” 

 

The Public Relations and Information, NAzf Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said the competition was organised annually by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and opened to all secondary schools nationwide.

 

According to him, Izuchukwu, a Senior Secondary 3 student representing Enugu State, came first at the grand finale of the competitive examination held on 14 March 2021 in Abuja.

 

He emerged the Best Overall among several other students from the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory.

 

The award presentation was in Abuja, venue of the ongoing Technology and Innovation Expo 2021.

 

The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo presented Master Edeani with his award which included a plaque, N1 Million and scholarship up to PhD level in any Nigerian University of his choice.

 

A similar feat was achieved by Master Peter Arotiba of Air Force Secondary School, Ikeja when he emerged best overall candidate in the 2018 May/June West African Examination Council (WAEC) in the entire West African Sub-region with 9 A-1s in 9 Subjects, beating over 1.9 million candidates that sat for the Examination.
