The 119 Composite Group of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Sokoto, has conducted a road walk in order to boost the morale of troops to face security challenges effectively across the country.
The route march kicked started at the NAF Base gate in Mana area to Gagi Roundabout to Mabera Junction as part of NAF second Quarter activities.

Addressing the troops shortly after the walk, Commander 119 Composite Group, Group Captain Umar Salihu Maibuhu, said the walk was aimed at improving personnel physical fitness, skills, as well as improving the standard of battle readiness.
He said the unit would continue to explore more avenues towards ensuring personnel always remain fitted to enable discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

“As an Air Force personnel, it’s expected to be smart and carry all your duties effectively. If you are unhealthy, you will not be able to discharge responsibilities as required.
“Exercise is very important for the well-being of every Air Force personnel, so we will continue to give more priority to ensure the fitness of our unit to be able to overcome security challenges in the country,” he said.
He urged troops to always create time to exercise and get ready to face contemporary security challenges affecting some parts of the country.
Group Captain Maibuhu appreciated the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hassan Bala Abubakar, for his support, interest and commitment to ensure personnel of the Nigerian Air Force train competitively.
He commended the troops for their resilience and hard work to duty at the base and assured them of continuous support to ensure more successes over criminals.
