Nigerian rapper, Efemoney to headline bout.

Nigerian heavyweight boxer Efe Ajagba will be keen to get revenge against Australian Joe Goodall in their main event on Saturday at Tahoe Blue Event Centre in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, USA.

Ajagba and Goodall fought as amateurs, with the Australian earning a decision in the semi-finals of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, where the Nigerian later won a bronze medal.

Aside from renewing their rivalries, Ajagba also hopes to take a giant leap toward a title opportunity with a win against Goodall.

“This is a great opportunity for me to close out the year with a big victory and move closer to a world title opportunity,” Ajagba said.

“Goodall is a big, powerful heavyweight, but I am confident in my preparation, and I will do what it takes to be victorious.”

President of DiBella Entertainment, Lou DiBella, explained the rivalry between Ajagba and Goodall, saying, “After his thrilling win in July, I’m happy to get Joe a fight of this magnitude.

“Joe beat Efe in the amateurs. Sometimes, fate works in your favour. This will be a sensational fight between two knockout punchers. The fans are the big winners.”

Ajagba will be making his third outing of 2023 against Goodall after defeating Zhan Kossobutskiy by disqualification in August and Stephan Shaw by a sixth-round TKO in January.

Goodall aware of the challenge, is eager to show what he can do against the 29-year-old, saying, “Efe Ajagba is a world-class boxer and a huge challenge for me. This is an opportunity, though, for me to come to America and show the world what I am capable of.

“It’s a massive show, and I’m genuinely honoured to be a part of it. When I signed with DiBella Entertainment, I told Lou that I only wanted the big fights. I want to put myself in a position to fight for a world title, and I believe beating Efe will do that.”

Nigerian rapper Efe Ejeba popularly called Efemoney will perform his latest hit song, which eulogizes Ajagba as he walks into the boxing arena to face his opponent.

Efemoney won the second season of ‘Big Brother Naija’ in 2017 claiming the grand prize of N25m.
